Next in line in our new —future4x4 exhibitions to yearly offer a platform to 4 emerging designers we feel you need to get to know through 4 works each is Laurids Gallée with the Patras edition.
Patras is Laurids Gallée’s newest series of works, made of hand-blown neon glass tubes and suspended string, differently dyed curtains of thread, that act both as lampshade and as backdrop. The Patras works consist of geometric volumes that are shaped by the falling thread, the negative spaces filled with the gloomy light of neon lamps that emerge from within the strings giving the false impression of a tangible solid form.

Give or take five years after launching Sabine's much acclaimed Dawn lights at DesignMiami/2015, Victor Hunt now is pleased to once again unveil her latest, greatest new series entitled 'Rise' for the occasion of her 2020 Dutch Design Ambassadorship during 2020’s Dutch Design Week.
In continuation of her explorations of light interactions, Rise delves into the possibilities of layered mirrors and neon lights to simultaneously create optical illusions of infinity and colour filtered reflections of the world that is, resulting in hybrid works that are both mirrors when turned off and lights when turned on.
